Imo state is in the news again over the requirements which a groom recently presented to his bride's family for their marriage introduction.

According to MC Emmydon, an eyewitness who was shocked by what he saw, his friend (the groom) bought various sets of wrapper, bags of rice, drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic among others things which he gave his partner's family for their wedding introduction on Sunday, January 6th.

He also revealed that these were required from the groom aside the bride price which was later paid to the lady's family.

The report has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerian internet users, with some lamenting over the "large" requirements.

Nigerian Military Threatens People Hiding Information About Boko Haram

Authorities at the headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole, a military counterinsurgency outfit in North-east Nigeria, Thursday, threatened to treat civilians who hide useful information about Boko Haram as terrorists.

According to a statement signed by the spokesman of counterinsurgency operation, Onyema Nwachukwu, the military “would not be kind” to those who were aware of clandestine movements of Boko Haram into communities around Maiduguri and fail to report such to the relevant security authorities.

Mr Nwachukwu, an army colonel, said the military has credible information that Boko Haram are moving into communities to “indoctrinate, recruit fresh members and asking others to vacate their homes”.

“There is credible information and evidence that in a bid to further intensify their psychological war and instil fear on the citizens, some elements of Boko Haram terrorists have infiltrated some villages in the fringes of Maiduguri city,” said Mr Nwachukwu, a deputy director, army public relations.

“They (Boko Haram) have clandestinely been going about threatening innocent residents, warning them to vacate their homes.

“So far, out of fear, several inhabitants have moved out of their ancestral homes. Consequently, we wish to inform all well meaning citizens, especially within Maiduguri metropolis and its environs to promptly report the presence of suspicious persons or avail the security agencies of information about such persons.

“Failure to report will be viewed seriously as it is tantamount to collaboration with the Boko Haram terrorists. Such compromising persons when found will be treated like the terrorists.

“Members of the public are enjoined to please cooperate and support ongoing operations to weed out the infiltrating terrorists and their sympathisers.”

Yesterday, the military had, in the wake of fresh attacks in communities around Maiduguri, shut down the Maiduguri-Kano highway from Maiduguri up to Potiskum for about seven hours, as troops led by special forces conducted a search in communities along the 235km road where Boko Haram had been carrying out attacks.

2019: Atiku Friends Endorsed Him Not We - Ohanaeze

0

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has denied endorsing Alhaji Atiku Abubarka, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the organisation, Mr Chuks Ibegbu disclosed this on Thursday in Enugu at a media briefing to mark the second anniversary of the current executive of the organisation.

Ibegbu said that the clarification became necessary following misconceptions on the event of Nov. 14, 2018 where some Igbo leaders endorsed the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar for presidency.

It would be recalled that some Igbo leaders had, during a meeting in Enugu, attended by Atiku and the national leaders of the PDP including the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, endorsed Atiku.

Ibegbu, however, clarified that the said endorsement was done by the friends of Atiku, adding that the organisation had not endorsed any particular candidate.

The deputy national publicity secretary said that the organisation needed to be circumspect, “as our children are in all the political parties.’

“It is erroneous to say that we endorsed Atiku. Ohanaeze Ndigbo did not endorse anybody. That meeting at Nike Lake Resort was organised by friends of Atiku.

“However, due to our peculiar circumstance in the country, we will identify with candidates that will restructure Nigeria if voted into power,” he said.

He said that the organisation would soon meet to take a holistic position on the 2019 general elections.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo has been canvassing for our people to identify with candidates that will restructure Nigeria.

“We still stand on that and in the next few days we shall meet to take a holistic position on the elections,” he said.

Ibegbu noted that within the two years in office of the Chief John Nwodo led Ohanaeze Ndigbo, “we have given our modest contribution by re-jigging Igbo leadership and issues concerning our people”.

He said that the current leadership of the organisation had built synergy with its affiliate groups with a view to achieving unity in the area.

He said that the dexterity and leadership acumen of Nwodo had positively affected the relationship between the organisation and other ethnic socio-cultural associations in the country.

“This has earned the president general an award as ‘Bridge Builder of the Nation’, which will be presented to him on Jan. 17 by Daily Independent Newspapers,” Ibegbu said.

Pretty Lady Willingly Gives Her Body To Handsome Guy, Offers To Be His Side Chick

Gone are the days when women see a guy they like and keep it to themselves without letting the guy know
about it.

These days, some ladies don't wait for guys to toast them, they now do the wooing through 'green light'. Unlike what is obtainable in the past where only guys do the wooing.

This young, beautiful lady saw the hot pictures this South African guy shared on Twitter and she went gaga.

The beautiful lady couldn't control her feelings for the young handsome man. She willingly offered her body to the guy. She offered to be his side chic.

She wrote:

"If you run out of things to bang, I’m here."

The tweet got people talking. Many hailed her for her boldness in 'toasting' the guy.

What do you think about such boldness from the beautiful lady?

Ladies, can you do what she did? If no. Why?

Guys, what would be your reaction if a lady outrightly told you this?

See more photos of the pretty, bold girl and those of the guy that made her go gaga...

2019 Elections: INEC And The Rest Of Us By Oke Umurhohwo

0
0

The stage is set for epic bouts that will determine those who would lead Nigeria for the next four years. Political activities are already picking up waves and gladiators are strategising and mobilising their structures to ensure that their chosen candidates prevail in the various elective contests, and more importantly, for the presidential seat, which is up for tussle in the February 16, 2019 poll.

Expectedly, the two leading political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have fielded candidates for the available positions, and are locked in a stringent battle to outwit each other and outmanoeuvre the electorate to settle for their candidates when they cast their ballots. The political atmosphere is becoming torrid, in terms of whether the APC will retain power at the centre or the PDP will outdo its setback and reclaim the power it lost four years ago.

However, a few weeks into the conduct of the general elections, the integrity of the polls is facing severe questions. The main opposition PDP was the first to raise dust, querying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s readiness to deliver free and fair elections. The party’s doubt may have started from the appointment of a national commissioner of the electoral umpire, Amina Zakari, to head INEC’s Advisory Committee and Presidential Election Collation Centre Committee.

PDP was succinct in pointing out that Amina Zakari shared a blood relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari, who will be on the ballot for the February 16, 2019 presidential election, protesting that having her in such role in the election supported its consistent alarm that INEC may be collaborating with certain interests in the APC and the Presidency to compromise the election and manipulate its outcome to favour Buhari.

In a clear tone that questioned the integrity of the general polls, the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PPCO) spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said “You will recall that we have been raising the flag on how the Buhari Presidency, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and some individuals at the echelon of INEC have been seeking ways to compromise our electoral processes and open the way for the allocation of fictitious votes to President Muhammadu Buhari, having realised that he cannot win in a credible, free and fair polls.”

“Today, we have been informed that Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, apparently in furtherance of the plots to rig the presidential election, has appointed Mrs. Amina Zakari, a blood relation (niece) of the APC candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, as the Chairperson of INEC Advisory Committee and Presidential election Collation Centre Committee,” he added.

This disclosure evoked protests from Nigerians, who wondered why INEC, a supposedly independent umpire, would make such a decision and expect citizens to be assured of its impartiality. Many Nigerians, including the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), rejected any role for Amina Zakari in the presidential election, alerting that her involvement may compromise the integrity of the results that may be derived from the electioneering process. There were also trends on social media platforms impressing on INEC to recuse Amina Zakari from having any impact on the 2019 polls, and even more properly, advised her withdrawal from the electoral umpire, to restore confidence in INEC’s neutrality and commitment to free and credible polls.

foraminifera

Obviously lost on an answer to the relationship between Buhari and Amina Zakari, INEC tried to allay fears of the influence of the controversial senior officer of the Commission, in relation to the 2019 presidential poll. While it could not deny that Amina and Buhari are indeed related, INEC, through its director of voter education and publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, said on Channels Television’s “Sunrise Daily” that, “The committee is primarily in charge of welfare. She (Zakari) was also very involved in negotiating with ICC management in 2015 for the use of the facility so her duty is to ensure the facility is ready. She has no role whatsoever with the process of collation.”

In another unsuccessful attempt to wave off the opposition that had trailed Amina Zakari’s appointment, the Presidency struggled to dispute linkages between President Buhari and the INEC commissioner. In fact, a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, gave credence to the controversy, as he noted that “President Buhari and Commissioner Amina Kazaure don’t share a family relationship. An inter-marriage occurred in their extended families, so the imputation of blood relationship between the president and the electoral commissioner is a simple lie.”

How more confusing can the Presidency sound with this lame defence? Inter-marriage is beyond ordinary, especially in Africa, where it has created bonds that have lasted generations. Even in time of war or dispute, inter-marriage is one potent tool that is readily explored to restore peace and stability. So, if the Presidency is trying to pass off “inter-marriage” as a no issue that should not warrant the criticisms that trailed the appointment of Amina Zakari in the presidential election, maybe it could explain how she (Amina Zakari) featured prominently in the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) under Buhari. Or, was it just mere coincidence, as her appointment in INEC is?

As the controversy lingers, there is no denying the fact that Buhari and Amina Zakari share some relationship. Even when the INEC commissioner moved to quash the upsurge of voices against her appointment by telling the BBC that, “I’m not [Buhari’s] niece,” she was swiftly countered by a professor of Communication, Farooq Kperogi, who pointed out that Buhari’s biological sister was once married to Mrs. Amina Zakari’s father. Kperogi stressed that, “At some point in his youth, Buhari, who lost his father at young age, came under the guardianship of Amina’s father, the late Alhaji Hussaini Adamu, who was emir of Kazaure, Daura’s ‘next-door neighbour'”, shedding more light on how deep the connection of the duo is.

The foregoing is a weighty revelation that INEC cannot easily sweep aside, except it wants to reinforce the perception of the opposition on its commitment to free and fair elections. From the available information so far, there is no disputing the linkage between Amina Zakari and Buhari as being strong enough to compromise the upcoming elections. Unless the electoral umpire is creating an impression of oncoming skewed polls, there is no defence strong enough that could sufficiently assure Nigerians on the integrity of INEC when Amina Zakari plays a critical role in the election delivery process.

INEC’s insistence on retaining Amina Zakari casts doubt on its integrity and commitment to credible polls. Or, would it be ideal for a referee with an “inter-marriage” tie to, say, Portugal to be handed the whistle in a football match between the European country and Argentina? What happens to conflict of interest if INEC is ignoring wise counsel on its fatal and indecorous choice of retaining Amina Zakari for the general elections? Her linkage to Buhari is enough motivation for bias and invariably, the distortion of fairness and equity in the discharge of her duty.

The argument that Amina Zakari won’t be able to sway poll results in favour of Buhari and his party, APC, is not tenable. Nigerian democracy is still in a developmental process and allowing such unthinkable anomaly to taint the electoral umpire is something INEC must seriously avoid. This is why Amina Zakari should be excused from the elections, so that INEC can maintain its impartiality. The 2019 general election is another litmus test for our democracy and INEC should not be the albatross to its entrenchment.

Jubilation In North Central Confirms Zone’s Support For Atiku - PDP

0

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) says the spontaneous jubilation and the overflowing crowd of supporters that received PDP’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at the North Central Presidential zonal rally, in Ilorin, Kwara state is a clear confirmation of his acceptance across the board as the next president of our nation.

The PPCO notes, with a high sense of responsibility, the sacrifices and commitment of the people of the North Central in joining other geo-political zones in the resolve to end the Muhammadu Buhari misrule and usher in a new era of national peace, unity and economic prosperity, as represented in the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar.

The North Central in embracing Atiku Abubakar has taken a major step in the overall aspiration by all segments of Nigeria’s population to enthrone a caring, pro-people, transparent and development-oriented administration that will unify our nation, revamp our ailing economy and galvanize the productive energies of all our people, for the common good.

The North Central has openly demonstrated their trust that Atiku Abubakar embodies a comprehensive understanding and practical solutions to the myriad of problems unleashed on them by the Buhari administration, which now represents hunger, starvation, penury, insecurity, violence and division in our land.

The PPCO appreciates the efforts of leaders, critical stakeholders and PDP supporters in the North Central in ensuring overwhelming support for Atiku Abubakar in all the nooks and crannies of the geo-political zone and urged them to remain undeterred until victory is secured.

"I Have Never Entered This Kind Of Bus In My Life Before"

0
0
So I went to Lagos and had already boarded a bus on my way back to Ibadan. All the seats have been occupied except the back row, where only one person was seated, and the fold-up seats and the passenger seat next to the driver.

First, I don't like those fold-up seats because you can't rest your back well on it or lean to the one in front of you in case you want to sleep and then the passenger seat beside the driver, I don't like that one because the way the person sitting next to you will squeeze you eh and the driver will keep telling you to adjust your legs, you will now have to seat like a statue all through the journey.

Not to talk of the way he will be hitting you when changing the gear, you will start wondering whether you paid half of the transport fare or he is giving you a free ride.

So I took my seat at the back and the earthquakes that finally rocked my waist all in the name of gallops each time the driver jumped into potholes made me shout that he should remember we entered a bus not a rocket. I don't know if he was using us to practice what he sees when watching Formula One or he forgot that Nigerian roads are not Formula One tracks and are not Formula One driving friendly. Those smart people eh, no wonder they all rushed and took seats in front and avoided the back.

Then this woman came with her three kids, two boys and a girl. The boys were like 8 and 10 years old and the girl was about say 5 years old.

When she realized that only two seats were remaining, one at the back and the conductor seat. She started quarrelling with the bus because I don't think any of us had her time.

That there is no way she can sit at the back, that someone in one of the other rows should go to the back while she takes the person's place, meanwhile, this lady only paid for one seat.

All the people in the front seats just behaved as if she wasn't even talking to them. When everybody gave her the silent treatment, she now proceeded to join us at the back, that was when the real trouble started. In fact, this woman had trouble written all over her. First, she asked the young lady sitting at the right end of the backseat to adjust so that she will seat at the end.
That there is no way she can sit in the middle and be carrying kids.

After initial hesitation the young lady adjusted. I was just seating at the other end and observing when the shocker abi knocker came, because it sounded and felt as if someone just gave me a knock, just short of being a knockout blow. Do you know what she said? She said that each one of the three of us at the back should carry her kids and that the lady sitting next to her should carry her daughter so that she will be close to her and that she wants a lady to be the one to carry her.
My mind wandered to the thought what if all of us at the back had been guys, what would she have said then. By now everybody was angry and tired of her drama, everyone was now asking her, "madam which one will you carry then?"

She defiantly answered that, her legs are paining her and that she would simply hold her bag, can you imagine? This woman is the real definition of a drama queen, Tonto Dikeh needs to go and upgrade her credentials with her. I know you will say but Tonto doesn't have any business in a public bus, but this her senior twin sister appears to do.

I offered to carry the younger of the two boys, at least, that one I know I can do. The guy by my side decided to help out with the older boy. After much argument, she finally agreed to carry her daughter but now insisted on that I must be the one to carry her older son, see me see wahala o.

People shouted at her that madam (you know that thing with we Nigerians, even when reprimanding someone, we will still call them madam, oga, as if they are our boss. Even though we are just using it as a way to refer to them), this is not your private car, so you can't be ditching out orders whichever way you like. That was what finally made her to calm down and we embarked on our journey.
What a bus.

Nollywood veteran Ngosi Nwosu has made it known that parents are the reason there are so many failed marriages today.

According to the actress, when parents put pressure on their kids,. they may cause the child to choose the wrong partner.

“No Parent should put pressure on their kids to marry, it is better to be late than to marry early and choose wrong. That was part of what happened to me, I was under pressure to marry and things eventually didn’t turn out right”

Nwosu continued saying;

“when you rush to do things because you are ageing or because your mates are doing it, it might be your doom so just live your life and wait till it is the right time. I am waiting on God’s time before I get married again, to avoid making another mistake”

See Sex Chat With Married Mistress That Crashed World Richest Man, Bezos’ Marriage

0

It has emerged that the richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos’ marriage has crashed and a serious divorce in the loom.

According to report, the Amazon Boss and his wife are separating over his affair with a mistress who he reportedly exchange sex chats with during the time of their relationship.

Among media exchanged between the duo were shirtless selfies, a photo of his genitals, steamy text messages and more to married Lauren Sanchez while they carried on an eight month affair that sometimes saw them hook up in both their marital homes, in hotels and in private jets.

The relationship between Amazon billionaire and his mistress, TV host Lauren Sanchez, has been going on long before Jeff Bezos and his wife MacKenzie decided to divorce.

Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie seen in September heading to Senator McCain’s funeral

Jeff, 54, and Lauren’s relationship involved private jet rendezvous, intimate dinners and sleepovers at each other’s marital homes, it has been claimed. They also stayed in hotels together, including one in Boston hours after the rest of the Bezos family had left the hotel.

It was claimed the family was in town to attend Bezos’ son’s graduation from MIT. While they were at the ceremony, Sanchez, it is claimed, was put in a room in the same hotel where they were occupying a private suite. Once the family left, Bezos is reported to have stayed and loved-in with Sanchez until the following day.

The National Enquirer magazine followed the love birds for four months after snapping Lauren Sanchez and her sister getting off Bezos’ private jet in October.

The Enquirer claims that Bezos only announced his divorce on Wednesday morning because he knew they were about to expose his affair with Sanchez.

The magazine also alleges that Jeff Bezos desperately tried to stop them from running its series of photographs which document their affair, and he even asked one friend: ‘Can’t I buy the story from them?’

MacKenzie, Jeff Bezos’ wife of 25 years, uncovered the affair between her husband and Lauren Sanchez when she looked at her husband’s plane’s flight manifest and found Sanchez’s name was the only one on the passenger list.

According to the Enquirer’s sources, Bezos is ‘in love’ with Sanchez and has told her:

We don’t have to worry about the parachute opening because we are jumping together.

We are sharing the parachute and it will land safely. We have chosen each other.

It was also revealed that asides meeting in each other’s homes, Bezos once booked a private bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel for them to spend the night in just five blocks from his marital mansion.

It has also emerged that the pair exchanged steamy text messages, dating back to April last year. Bezos sent raunchy text messages to Sanchez, who is married to Hollywood mega agent Patrick Whitesell and has three children (two with him and one from a previous relationship with an NFL star).

In one, he reportedly told the 49-year-old:

I love you, alive girl. I will show you with my body, and my lips and my eyes, very soon.

In another, National Enquirer claims he said:

I want to smell you, I want to breathe you in. I want to hold you tight.… I want to kiss your lips…. I love you. I am in love with you.

Others are more X-rated including one where he is said to have told the former TV host:

I miss you. I want to kiss you right now and tuck you in slowly and gently.

And maybe in the morning wake you up and not be quite so gentle with you.

In another, he allegedly said:

Your energy and ideas and competence and SPIRIT turn me on. You make me better. You’re meant for me.

Another is said to have read:

I am so full of love for you. My heart is growing just so it can have room for you.

It’s bigger than it’s ever been and still swelling.

Other remarks he reportedly made to her include:

I want to hold you tight.… I want to kiss your lips…. I love you. I am in love with you.

You know what I want? I want to get a little drunk with you tonight. Not falling down. Just a little drunk. I want to talk to you and plan with you. Listen and laugh … I basically WANT TO BE WITH YOU!!! Then I want to fall asleep with you and wake up tomorrow and read the paper with you and have coffee with you.

In addition to shirtless photographs he took standing in front of mirrors, including one in a steamy room where the magazine claims he was wearing just a towel, he also sent Sanchez an ‘unsparing’ photograph of his genitals which it said was too graphic to publish.

It was previously reported that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez didn’t start dating until they were both separated from their spouses. But National Enquirer says they had been dating since June, months before Lauren separated from her husband, Hollywood mega-agent Patrick Whitesell, and nine months before Bezos announced his split from his wife, MacKenzie, on Twitter.

It is believed that Lauren Sanchez met Jeff Bezos through her husband Patrick. Sources tell The Enquirer that the affair has ‘blindsided’ Sanchez’s husband Patrick.

Over the last several years, Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos and Patrick Whitesell and Lauren Sanchez have been photographed together at glitzy events including the Vanity Fair Oscars party.

Bezos reportedly propositioned Sanchez behind her husband’s back while they honored the Oscar-winning film Manchester By The Sea.

He whispered to her: ‘You can’t fight chemistry’.

Amid the relationship saga, it has emerged that Sanchez was voted ‘Biggest Flirt’ by her classmates at Del Norte High School (Sanchez left in 1987).

Lagos Muslim Community Demands Sharia Court

The Muslim community in Lagos State has demanded the establishment of a Sharia Court that will adjudicate cases concerning Muslims.

They spoke in Lagos at an interactive session with the governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Mr. Owolabi Salis.

The community said it needed a Sharia Court “because Muslims’ affairs are being decided by people who know nothing about Islamic laws.”

Salis promised to set up a committee to look into the request if elected as governor. He said religious leaders must oppose injustice.

The event was attended by Muslim clerics from Ikorodu, Epe, Badagry, Ikeja and other areas in Lagos.

Saheed Yusuf popularly known as 'Spider' has issued a warning to those who tried to kill a chieftain of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, a.k.a MC Oluomo, few days ago.

MC Oluomo was stabbed in the neck during a violent clash at the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) governorship flag off Campaign on Tuesday, 8th January 2019.

It was claimed that MC Oluomo was stabbed twice with a poisonous knife called Makenje (which literally translates to don’t touch blood).

Saheed Yusuf who showed solidarity for MC Oluomo and prayed for his quick recovery, said that God/Allah is the only person that can bring someone to life and take their soul.

He also sent out a warning to the person (s) who purchased the alleged poisonous knife which was meant to 'kill' MC Oluomo at the rally as he said that they should know that what goes around would surely come around.

Meanwhile, reports have it that EKO Hospital, where MC Oluomo was rushed to for treatment after the attack - has been fully secured with armed officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
